Christmas is always an exciting time for us all. Everyone seems to get involved withour Christmas village scene, which gets more and more complicated every year. Now Dad has changed all the lights to LEDs we don't have to be so careful about having the lights on! Then of course there is baking to be done, gifts to be wrapped and made, and of course we also need to relax and enjoy a game or two. We also get to open one gift on Christmas eve.
Opening presents is always fun with Dad trying to record what we each get. Of course, any excuse to use his I-Phone is always welcome! The opening started with lots of packages for everyone with all sorts of surprises in them. Surprises included pretty rocks, drawings, and patterns to create yourself. We all enjoyed opening them! We received all sorts of wonderful gifts this year and appreciated each one very much. It won't be until we have opened them all that we will really play with any of them for long though. There was too much excitement in the air!

After opening all the gifts it was time to check them all out carefully. One of Tomas' favourites was the helicopter from Mom and Dad. Although it is for "outdoor use" did anyone think that it would not be a case of "just have to try it indoors first". It did get off the ground and did not crash - a very good sign for the future! Katrina just loves stickers and cut out things, such as horses, and Santa had brought her just the right book! Marja and Stephen both enjoyed a book on "saunas" from Finland. (A sauna is approaching the top of the list of things to do next!)

After A Christmas walk - it had actually stopped raining for a bit by then - it was OK to return to enjoy the wonderful gifts we all received. We actually decided to have our English Christmas dinner on boxing day, but that is included in these photos anyway. On Christmas eve we celebrated with our Finish Christmas meal.
This was a Christmas we will remember as a very wet one! It rained every day for at least part of the day. However, that did not affect our enjoyment of the time together. We missed our Grammie and Jimbo in Halifax, and also Aunt Rhonda and Uncle Colin in Florida. Happily we were able to talk to everyone though. Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a happy time.
